It’s no secret that Sleeping Bear Dunes is one of Michigan’s most gorgeous natural attractions. After all, there’s something at Sleeping Bear for every member of the family, regardless of athletic ability or age. With the area’s abundance of hiking trails, magical lookouts, and spots to stop and rest, it’s nearly impossible to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes without having a blast.
This magnificent national lakeshore comprises over 70,000 acres of land, so we mean it when we say there’s no shortage of space to explore. Hop in your car to enjoy a stunning journey along Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, which is easily the most popular way to experience the dunes. Of course, no trip to Sleeping Bear is complete without a stop at Pyramid Point, which gives way to seemingly endless views of Lake Michigan. Brilliant turquoise water and soft white sand? Sounds more like paradise to us!
Unfortunately, some Michiganders (and out-of-state admirers) won’t have the opportunity to visit Sleeping Bear before summer draws to a close. Never fear! YouTube user TAPP Channel flew a drone over the national lakeshore to capture some of the most breathtaking footage imaginable. If you’re looking for a brief virtual vacation, take a look at the video below — you’ll wonder if you’ve somehow been transported to the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.
